365 ish

Since starting another weight loss deal 365 (+/- 3) days ago at 183 pounds I unexpectedly lost 10 pounds (173) and hit my New Year’s Eve 2024 goal. Unexpected because I don’t normally change anything and well, I’ll be damned. Don’t worry I didn’t get the mileage goal. It’s not all success and sweet Instagram reels of crushing life over here.

Cue 3 months into the new year I’m in Houston and feeling good so off I go to a doctor appointment. Get my blood drawn Tuesday morning at 0900 and Wednesday afternoon around 1700 I get a voicemail while I’m on the shuttle bus to the airport telling my fat ass (still 173) that I got that diabetes and I need to get on some meds (cool, gimme all dem drugs doc – vitameatavegamin, metformin, and Mounjaro best ounjaro).

Initial test results:

  • Glucose – 248 c’mon dude
  • A1C – 12.3 c’mon dude x 2
  • BP – 125/85
  • Cholesterol – 232 – what is you doin’?

Certainly not ideal but the game plan was goodbye (everybody) carbs (100g or bust) and hello protein and fat. That didn’t go as planned as the tirzeps (tirzepatide) has this amazing side effect of where my new diet consists of just not eating. Who knew the secret to losing weight was not eating as much (or any) and hang the exercise? Initially no side effects aside from appetite loss but I’ve had a round of vomiting roughly at the 3 and 6 month mark. Some nausea but could be sinus stuff; get sinus surgery people!

A1C results are as follows:

  • 0 month – 12.3
  • 1 month – 8.9
  • 3 months – 5.6
  • 6 months – 5.1

Crazy that I just needed all the drugs (not the fun kind, sorry) and hey Doc, gimme all of them Vitameatavegamins you got in the back.

Weight loss…I’m a 4 brick bitch now. I’ve been stuck at 149 for about a month straight so now the goal is 139 by New Year’s Eve 2025 or GTFO (of the house and run you fat bitch).

I’m 33 pounds down from 365 days ago –

  • 10 pounds skill (12/31/2024)
  • 23 pounds cheating bitch (3/14/2025 – 9/16/2025)

Do I feel better? I can’t says that I do. In my day to day living, I never was in much physical pain (existential). My ruck time has gotten slower and I’m literally 1 whole ass plate lighter than I used to be. I wonder what a 4 brick Heavy would be like now that it’s an actual option (unless that isn’t an option- I’ve been out of the game too long). Running at my old pace is easier when I’m not a fat POS “Oh come on now, you’re not that fat!” – Sam All, lmao for real now.

The world spins a little faster now that I’m 30 pounds lighter but that just means we’re hurtling ever closer to the sweet, sweet release of death. But until then, another round Doc.
